Sandro Schmid

A former professional mountain biker who swapped singletrack for sand tracks and is now riding solo offroad around the world on a Yamaha Tenere 700. Sandro Schmid is a Swiss content creator, former professional mountain biker, and adventure rider who traded more than a decade of competitive cycling for a solo motorcycle journey around the world. With over 200,000 Instagram followers and more than 130,000 Facebook followers, he has built one of the fastest-growing adventure motorcycle audiences in the German- and English-speaking world, sharing his travels, challenges, and discoveries from the road.

Beyond social media, Sandro is a former elite athlete who appeared in Anthill Films' acclaimed documentary Return to Earth alongside some of the greatest mountain bikers of all time. Since 2019, he has lived full-time on the road out of a self-converted Mercedes Sprinter, spending much of the year camping alongside his motorcycle.

His motorcycle journey began in 2024 after a life-changing trip to Kyrgyzstan, where he rented a small 125cc motorcycle and discovered a completely new way to explore the world. Just four days later, he purchased his first motorcycle, a Yamaha Tenere 700, and began what would become a global adventure. Since then, he has ridden through Morocco, Oman, Mauritania, and dozens of other countries, steadily working towards his goal of reaching all 197 countries in the world.
