Build Gear for People Who Actually Ride

Lone Rider is a global, rider-led team building premium adventure motorcycle gear for real-world abuse. If you care about craftsmanship, performance, and doing the work properly, you'll fit in here.

For over 14 years, we've designed and shipped gear that survives long days in the saddle, bad weather, and the occasional bad idea. We're a lean, international team with high standards, clear direction, and no interest in corporate theatre.

What We Do

Lone Rider creates high-end adventure motorcycle gear—by riders, for riders.

We design, test, and ship products built to handle multi-week trips, unpredictable weather, and hard use. From crash-tested luggage to shelters that live on the side of the bike, everything we make is designed with real riders and real miles in mind.

We are:

  • 14+ years in business
  • Customers in 110+ countries
  • Global e-commerce brand
  • Small, focused, high outpu team

Remote first, with a real home base

We operate as a lean, distributed team with a strong written and async culture.

If you are based in the EU or the USA, you'll join our fully remote team and work from wherever you are most effective.

If you are based in Cape Town, you can work from our amazing offices and be part of the local core team.

Obsessed with craft

We treat product quality and systems quality the same way: no shortcuts. We care about stitching, materials, and tolerances and we care just as much about how our workflows are built, how support tickets are handled, and how inventory is managed. If you're the kind of person who reorganises your garage or panniers to shave five minutes off packing time, you'll recognize the mindset.

Grounded in real riding

We use what we sell. Many of us are active adventure riders, overlanders, or long-distance tourers. Real trips, real crashes, real weather. That feedback gets baked back into the gear, the site, and the way we operate.

Teams and Roles

At Lone Rider, every seat matters. We keep the team small and hire specialists with range.

We hire across:

Product & Design

Turning rough ideas and trip-proven insights into gear that riders trust.

Operations & Supply Chain

Making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time, with the least friction and the most visibility.

Marketing & Growth

Telling real stories, respecting the customer's intelligence, and driving profitable, sustainable growth.

Customer Experience

Solving problems fast, with empathy and technical understanding. Turning issues into long-term loyalty.

Systems & Automation

Building the backbone: tools, integrations, automations, and data flows that keep everything moving.

Finance & Ops

Keeping the machine honest: clean numbers, strong controls, and clear decision-making support.

No Perfect Role? Send Us Your Pitch

If you live for long days in the saddle, keep WD-40 on standby, and geek out over the latest off-road bike or overlander build… if you obsess over the details of your craft the way you obsess over your tyre pressure before a big ride… we probably want to hear from you.

Tell us what you're world-class at, how you'd raise the bar at Lone Rider, and why this would be your dream role. Keep it short and impactful.

Send us:

  • A concise email explaining who you are and what you want to own here
  • Your CV or portfolio
  • Links or evidence of things you've built, shipped, or improved

Our Interview Process

We keep the process simple and fast. No endless rounds, no trick questions, no pointless puzzles.

01

Intro Call (30–45 minutes)

A conversation about you, the role, and Lone Rider. We look for alignment on how you work, what you value, and what you want next. You get straight answers to your questions about the team and expectations.

02

Role Task (2–4 hours, async)

A short, realistic exercise based on actual work you'd be doing. We care about your thinking, your taste, and your ability to execute not your ability to memorize theory. You complete it in your own time within a clear deadline.

03

Review Call (60 minutes)

We walk through your task together. We dig into your decisions, trade-offs, and how you handle feedback and constraints. You'll typically meet your hiring manager.

04

Offer & Trial Period

If both sides are aligned, we make an offer. We define clear expectations for your first 30–90 days and agree on how success will be measured. You get a concrete picture of what 'excellent' looks like in the role.
