The System
Overview
The ADVBags combine a flexible base plate system with two integrated holsters for the side dry bags. On top, a removable Beaver Tail offers multiple anchor points and integrated pockets for documents and smaller gear. It can also be removed to fit for example our Tail Pack or Explorer bag.
The system attaches to your bike with six replaceable straps and non-slip, stainless steel cam buckles. All plastic buckles are magnetic for easy, glove-friendly use.
Each holster includes a compression strap to keep things secure, even when lightly packed. With six MOLLE panels and weight-rated loops, the ADVBags are ready for add-ons like bottle holders or tool rolls: built for adventure, right out of the box.
Base
The foundation of the ADVBags system is a three-piece base plate that bolts together into a solid, unified structure. This modular design allows for a universal fit across a wide range of bikes, adapting easily to different seat shapes and rear frame layouts. The base secures to the bike using six attachment straps, all fully replaceable in case of wear or damage.
To protect your bike, each section of the base includes soft, replaceable padding that sits between the plate and the bike. However, we do recommend applying a protective film to the contact areas on your bike. If gravel, wet sand, or other debris gets caught between the ADVBags and your plastics, it can scratch the paint or dull the surface over time.
Along the sides, you’ll find multiple anchor points integrated directly into the structure, ideal for mounting accessory bags, bottle holders, or other add-ons you might need on longer rides. It’s a stable, low-profile base built to handle tough terrain without compromising flexibility or function.
Dry bags
The ADVBags system includes two 15 L side dry bags and one 15 L top dry bag, all built from durable, waterproof materials and designed for tough use on and off the bike.
Each side bag features a Super Seal closure that keeps dust and water out, even when rolled imperfectly. Air release valves make it easy to compress the bags tightly, while a pull strap at the bottom helps you seat them fully into the holsters for a clean, secure fit. Magnetic buckles keep closures quick and glove-friendly, and a clear window on each bag allows for a quick visual check of your gear without unpacking.
The top bag features a single Super Seal opening with a defined bottom, making packing simple and secure. It also includes an air release valve for compact packing and a bungee cord panel on top for stashing rain gear or anything you want to access quickly. Two carrying handles and stowable backpack straps make it easy to take with you off the bike, whether you’re heading into camp or just grabbing essentials.
Extras
Every set of ADVBags comes with a set of smart extras to extend fitment options and cover unexpected needs on the trail.
An aluminum Heat Shield is included to protect the bags from high-mounted exhausts, easy to install and compatible with most dual sport setups. For bikes that need custom mounting points, you’ll find two closed and two open Anchors, giving you flexibility to create secure strap points where needed.
The kit also includes a spare attachment strap and a spare compression strap, so you’re covered in case of loss or damage during travel.
Compatibility
Do the ADVBags fit YOUR bike? Yes – thanks to a universal attachment system that uses six replaceable straps with non-slip buckles, ADVBags can be mounted on almost any bike.
To install them, your bike just needs:
One attachment point at the rear (like a luggage rack or fender brace)
Two side attachment points where the subframe meets the main frame (usually the passenger footpeg brackets)
If you ride a dual-sport and don’t have a solid mounting point at the rear, you can use the included metal anchors to create your own attachment points.

Please note: The video below features the ADVBags 70. Installation is the same for all sizes. However, the tent pole bag shown in the video is only included with the 70L and does not come with the 45 or 16 models.

I need to modify the joints between the mounting plates slightly. This is to better fit my bike (R1250GS Rallye) without having to remove the rear pannier rack (Alu top case). Keeping the rack on, will allow for more luggage if needed, and better support for it all. Also less work for me when switching between different configurations.

The only complaint I have is the weight. I wish the system could be a little lighter but it's really fantastic and better than Mosko. The double straps on the bottom legs work much better than a single strap, the magnetic buckles are truly amazing and work very well at a camp site in the dark. No fumbling and you don't even need a light to gain access to a bag. Really the only complaints are the weight but that's on par with other competitors. Another complaint is the spring-loaded buckles that hold the beaver tail on will sometimes unbuckle if the beaver tail strap is loose. I think a different buckle design should be used, but as long as the straps are tight its fine. I think this is the best reckless luggage available.

This is my first purchase of LoneRider gear.
I am a freelance adventure motorcycle tour guide, currently living in Northern Thailand, after 10 years on the road touring north and south America, north Africa, Europe and asia.
Needless to say ive seen and used just about every luggage set up you can imagine.
I decided on the lone rider ADVbags 45 rackless system after a lot of research and comparison with other similar systems.
I have to say I am more than impressed with the design ethos, quality materials and thought that went into the design and construction of these bags.
Im fitting them to my honda CRF300rally for an upcoming 2 month long trip from Thailand, through Laos, china and to Everest base camp in Tibet.
I have zero concern that the bags will hold up to everything I throw at them.
The quality of construction and fittings are the best ive experienced on any similar or rival system on the market.
I honestly think this is now the bench mark for other (often more expensive) systems to try and match.
Well done to the lone rider team, I have no affiliation with the company and paid full price from their web site. I am however a convert and probably repeat customer.
I will 100% recommend any of my guest riders and friends to seriously consider lone rider when shopping for luggage.
